"Jorge Lomnitz Adler" Prize in Nonlinear Dynamics was established in 1996 by joint agreement of the Institute of Physics and the Mexican Academy of Sciences in order to distinguish the contributions of outstanding scientists to the modern field of Nonlinear Dynamics.

The award is given annually and consists of a diploma and a monetary contribution.
