An explosion rocks Baghdad during air strikes March 21, 2003.

U.S.-led forces unleashed a devastating blitz on Baghdad on Friday

night, triggering giant fireballs and deafening explosions and sending

huge mushroom clouds above the city centre. Missiles slammed into

the main palace complex of President Saddam Hussein on the bank

of the Tigris River, and key government buildings, in an onslaught

that far exceeded strikes that launched the war on Thursday, Reuters

                                    correspondents said.

The Heroes

Harry Belefonte said of Collin Powell with

respect to the war in Iraq, “He is like the

black slave, doing what he is told to do, afraid

of being kicked out of the house of the whites.”

Collin Powell seems to have been the only one                                                                                                                                 in the administration with a conscience, he                                                                                                                                        eventually resigned.
