Dr. José Roberto Nicolás Carlock specializes in studying natural and social phenomena from a complexity science perspective. He holds a PhD in physics from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Mexico) for his work on fractal morphodynamics in nature. As a postdoctoral researcher, he has addressed the study of shell companies and corruption in public procurement in Mexico (Institute of Legal Research, UNAM) and the modeling of emergent properties of social systems (Institute of Physics, UNAM). His research work is published in internationally prestigious journals. He is a member of Mexico's National System of Researchers (Level 1).
