Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Privacy Notice

The Institute of Physics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, located at Circuito de la investigación científica S/N, Ciudad Universitaria, is responsible for the treatment of your personal data obtained through the Closed Circuit Television (hereinafter CCTV) installed in this academic entity as well as the treatment given to them.

You are informed that the treatment is part of the security measures adopted within the facilities of this university area, through monitoring of the CCTV system and a record of entrances and exits of visitors.

The personal data collected will be used for the following purposes:

  • Preserve the security of the people and facilities of the academic entity.
  • To control people 's entrance and exit to and from the academic entity.
  • To ensure the safety of teachers, employees, students and visitors, all of them nationals or foreigners.
  • Prevent and alert the university security and emergency authorities about any risk situation (emergencies, crisis and/or commission of illegal acts).
  • To identify individuals in the event of violation of any legal right protected by law.

We collect the following personal data: moving images of people entering and passing through the facilities, which, in certain contexts, could be sensitive personal data.

It is informed that it is not necessary to obtain your consent for the processing of your personal data, in terms of articles 7 and 22, sections I and VI of the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data Held by Obligated Parties; 9, first paragraph, 11, fraction VI, of the Guidelines for the Protection of Personal Data in Possession of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, published in the UNAM Gazette on February 25, 2019, in relation to 90 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, 1st and 3rd of the Organic Law of the Federal Public Administration, 1st and 2nd, fraction I, of the Organic Law of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, as well as 1st and 2nd of the General Law of the National Public Security System.

Regarding the processing of personal data of children and adolescents, the university area will give priority to their best interests, in terms of the provisions of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, the Federal Civil Code and the General Law on the Rights of Children and Adolescents.

Basis for the processing of personal data

The basis for the processing of personal data are articles 6, Base A, sections II and III, 16, second paragraph, of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States; 3º, fraction XXXIII, 16, 17, 18 of the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data in Possession of Obligated Subjects (LGPDPPSO) in relation to articles 4, fraction IV and 11, second part, of the Guidelines that regulate the use of monitoring equipment and technological systems for the prevention and management of risks in university facilities, published in the UNAM Gazette on August 17, 2017.

Personal data transfer

No transfer of personal data contained in the CCTV system will be made, except for those necessary to meet the information requirements of a competent authority, in the exercise of its powers and which are duly founded and motivated. Likewise, you are informed that your consent will not be required for such transfers, pursuant to the provisions of Article 70, Sections I and III of the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data in Possession of Obligated Subjects.

Exercising the right of access to your personal data

You have the right to know what personal information we have about you, what we use it for and the conditions of the use we make of it (right of access). To exercise it you can go to the Transparency Unit of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, located on the northwest side of the Olympic Stadium Circuit without number, next to the Annex of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, Ciudad Universitaria, Coyoacán, C.P. 04510, Mexico City, or through the National Transparency Platform..

Changes to the Privacy Notice

This privacy notice may undergo modifications or updates. Such updates or modifications will be available to the public, so you can consult them on the institutional website: www.fisica.unam.mx. It is recommended and required to consult the Privacy Notice, at least semiannually to be updated on the conditions and terms of this.
