Physics of condensed matter estudies the physical properties of matter in its solid state on the boundary between the solid, liquid and gaseous phases.

Enphasizes the study of physical phenomena located at the intersection between solids, liquids, plasmas and other complex matters.

Examples of condensed phases iclude the nucleation and growth of structures, thin film formation, superconducting phases, magnectic phases, nanostructures and quasicrystals.

The field of condensed matter physics intersects with solid state physics and chemistry, materials science and nanotechnology, and it is also closely related to atomic physics and biophysics.

Theoretical condensed matter physics shares important concepts and techniques with theoretical particle physics and nuclear physics.
