In a light scattering experiment we use an instrument as that shown in the figure. Here, a light beam is sent to a temperature controlled liquid sample, which scatters the light in all directions due to the thermal fluctuations. In our case at an angle, we have a detector which receives the scattered light. Depending on the kind of experiment, we can obtain information about our sample, just analyzing the scattered light.
