Professorships

  • The candidatures must be accompanied by a cover letter highlighting the scientific contributions of the candidate, a resume summary and the work plan to be developed.
  • The Academic Committee may declare the awarding of the professorship void if, in its opinion, the candidates do not meet the requirements indicated in the call.

The purpose of the Tomas Brody Professorship is to promote the development of research in the area of Theoretical Physics, with special emphasis on the disciplines worked by the Enginner Thomas Brody, among wich are: Computational Physics, Fundamentals of Quantum Mechanics, Probability and Statistics and Philosophical Problems of Science.

This professorship will provide per diem and/or airfare support, that will allow up to three professors of excellent academic level to spend two to six weeks each at the Department of Theoretical Physics of the Institute of Physics of UNAM.

The goal of the Ángel Dacal Alonso Professorship is to host distinguished foreign researchers of the highest level to teach and collaborate in research projects at the Institute of Physics. Preference will be given to those proposals that contribute to promote the establishment of novel projects in the fields of Experimental Physics with special emphasis on Nuclear Physics, Applications in Nuclear Techniques and Instrumentation and Development of Scientific Equipment, disciplines in which Dr. Ángel Dacal Alonso worked.

This professorship will provide per diem and/or airfare support, that will allow two or more distinguished professors and top-level researchers to spend up to eight weeks at the Institute of Physics of UNAM each year.

The Elena Aizen de Moshinsky Professorship aims to invite distinguished researchers to teach and collaborate in research projects at the Institute of Physics.

This professorship will provide per diem and/or airfare support, that will allow top-level professors to spend time at the Institute of Physics of UNAM.

The professorship will be a permanent tribute to the work of Marcos Moshinsky and a lifetime honor for those who receive them. It is hoped that, over the years, the awardees will form a large family with a common goal: to promote scientific research in Mexico.

The winners of these professorships will be chosen through a rigorous selection process, in which they will be evaluated by renowned Mexican scientists.
