25th International Conference on
Nuclear Tracks in Solids

NUCLEAR TRACK PHOTOGRAPHY- History and Arts
An exhibition to be held in parallel with the 25th ICNTS International Conference

The Organizing Committee of the 25th International Conference on Nuclear Tracks in Solids (25 ICNTS), invites you to participate in the First International Exhibition on "NUCLEAR TRACK PHOTOGRAPHY-History and Arts" to be held in parallel with the 25 ICNTS at Puebla, Mexico.

Participants are invited to send old and new photos of nuclear track events, taken with any Technique, such as nuclear emulsions, damage track detectors, cloud-, bubble- and spark chambers. For old pictures, the original photos are preferred, while electronic copies are welcome, if not available otherwise. Each photo should be accompanied by a figure caption similar to an abstract (with no more than 100 words), easy to understand even by laymen.

An ad-hoc committee will select the photos on the basis of their historical importance, their artistic properties, and the simplicity of the picture description. All these photos will be collected in a catalogue, which will be distributed free to all the authors of the published photos.

The exhibition has the ambitious project to attract visitors with no expertise in the field, including even members of the public. It is with these understandings in mind, that we have co-opted Dr Pier Mattia Tommasino, as one of member of the exhibition committee. Dr Pier Mattia Tommasino, from Villa I Tatti (Harvard University in Florence), has been chosen since he is not a scientist (i.e. he has no science bias) and has been collecting photos on nuclear tracks for a long time (provided by his father, Dr Luigi Tommasino) with the only interest in mind to look for beautiful pictures.

Participants are kindly asked to send their pictures prior to March 25, 2011 to:

Dr Luigi TOMMASINO, Via Cassia 1727, 00123 Roma, Italy
