11th International Conference on Particle-Induced X-Ray Emission and its Analytical Applications

25-29 May 2007, Puebla, Mexico.

The conference

The PIXE Conference that will take place in Puebla, is the eleventh of a series that started at Lund, Sweden in the early 1970s. Most appropriately, the first conference took place at Lund (in 1976), and successive meetings have reflected the development of PIXE into one of the main tools of ion beam analysis at low-energy accelerators. After Lund (1976), the PIXE community met at Lund (1980), Heidelberg (1983), Tallahassee (1986), Amsterdam (1989), Tokyo (1992), Padua (1995), Lund (1998), Guelph (2001) and Ljubljana (2004). We extend a warm invitation to PIXE users and to other scientists who wish to become more familiar with this multipurpose technique

The International Advisory Committee has agreed upon various changes in the mode of publication of conference material. These changes are intended to expose our material to a wider audience. Contributors are urged to read carefully the instructions for submission of papers.

Participants

The conference organizing committee thanks all the participants for their enthusiastic participation. The conference was attended by 110 scientists from 24 countries who presented 140 contributions. The Best-Poster awards were acknowledged to Dr. Helena Calvo, to Alexandra Rodrigues and to Paula Chaves. Next Conference will be held in Guildford, United Kingdom, in 2010.
